On a damp and grey Saturday morning, City of York Ladies 2s took on long-time rivals Harrogate in a fiercely contested away match. With Harrogate fielding several experienced players, both sides knew it would be a tough battle from the outset.
The first half saw plenty of midfield tussles, with neither team able to break through. York’s defense held firm, frustrating Harrogate’s attackers and keeping the score locked at 0-0 going into the break.

In the final minutes, York pushed hard for a winner, but Harrogate’s defense held firm, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Despite the frustrating result, there were plenty of positives for York. Anna, named Player of the Match, defended brilliantly, staying one step ahead of the Harrogate attackers throughout the game, while Ruby’s crucial saves ensured York came away with a point.
